Lost or Stolen Columbia Cards and Badges

Report any theft, including that of Columbia Cards and ID badges, to Columbia’s Department of Security immediately. In addition, inform the ID Center of lost or stolen Columbia Cards by phone (during normal business hours) or via the ID Center Web site.

Resolving Problems

Campus card-readers and cardkey locks will not respond to your Columbia Card if you have not been granted specific privileges or access to certain buildings—such as Dodge Physical Fitness Center, residence halls, libraries, and areas secured with cardkey locks. The ID Center cannot grant such privileges or clear students for access to secured areas. Students must contact the appropriate office to resolve these problems. Keep in mind that it may take up to 24 hours for Columbia’s system to update cardholder privileges.
