Columbia University Facilities is dedicated to supporting the core educational and research missions of the University by maintaining a safe, beautiful, and functional campus environment that meets the varied needs of students, faculty, staff, and our guests. Its main responsibilities are to maintain the buildings, grounds, and physical plant of the main campus, Baker Field, and Nevis Laboratories; to design and build new facilities; to lead campus planning and space management efforts; to ensure public safety; to provide and manage apartment housing for faculty, students, and staff; to assist Columbia affiliates in finding off-campus housing; and to manage parking.

Facilities accomplishes this work through its six main service departments: Capital Project Management, Construction Coordination, Finance and Administration, Operations, Planning and Space Management, and Public Safety.
