Welcome to Columbia University!

The Columbia University New Hire Orientation program is designed to introduce you to the Columbia Community. During Orientation faculty and staff will receive important information. This includes learning more about University leadership, our University-wide commitment to a strong and ethical workplace, as well as key services available, such benefits, employee perks and guidance about the essential steps you can take to ensure your success during the first few months of your school or department’s onboarding process.

A continental breakfast will be served and you will have a unique opportunity to network with other new colleagues. All participants will receive an official new hire welcome package.

Who should attend? All Faculty, Officers of Instruction, Officers of Research, Officers of the Libraries and Administrative Officers, Union and Non-Union Support Staff who work on the Morningside or Manhattanville campus.

Orientation is held approximately every two weeks at Manhattanville campus. It is strongly recommended that new hires attend orientation within the first 30 days of being hired, closest to the first day of work. The Spring 2018 dates are as follows: February 20, March 6, March 20, April 3, April 17, May 1, May 15, June 12 and  June 26.

New Hire Orientation Location

Orientation programs will be held in the Studebaker building located at 622 West 132nd Street, Room 469 (4th Floor). To access the building, please bring your Columbia ID or a valid ID.

The intercampus shuttle will take you to Studebaker from the various CU locations. Review the intercampus shuttle schedule for more information and downloadable map.
