The Tuition Exemption Benefit Program pays tuition costs for Officers each term, up to an amount depending on hire date, job grade and title, and whether they are registered in a degree program. The Program does not cover fees or the tuition charged for auditing courses.

Your spouse’s or same-sex domestic partner’s eligibility depends on your hire date.
For those who are eligible, an Officer’s spouse or same-sex domestic partner must be accepted into the school he or she wants to attend. For information about applying, visit Columbia’s Admissions page.

There are no tuition benefits for the spouses or same-sex domestic partners of Officers hired after July 1, 2011.
For spouses and same-sex domestic partners of Officers hired on or before July 1, 2011, the benefit varies based on the Officer's hire date.
